Huron Peak - August 15-16, 2003

After a brief night's rest, we rise for a good day of hiking -- or so it seemed. Note the lack of clouds and rain/hail in this photo. Also note: We thought this was Huron Peak, but it wasn't and our mistake cost us ~2 miles on the wrong trail. D'OH!
As the trail opens up briefly from the trees, you get a great view of the "Three Apostles" (in bg).

Tiny tiny people
Approaching the summit -- no hail yet.
Hail starts to fall before turning into rain.

A few quick shots at the summit before I get struck by lightning. :)
All alone at 14k feet I shoot myself. I look FABULOUS!
Note: Wet hair standing on end. That can't be good.
Looking up towards the summit as I descend.
Hail/sleet on the ridge.
More people are coming.

Heading back to camp as rain falls continuously.
Back at camp just before a torrential downpour. I emptied about a gallon of water from my tent (left).
